It hits some high notes, but the claims of sexy benefits turn out to be a bit flimsy.
Maybe you are looking for a sexy cannabis gift for valentine’s day. And you might find a vape pen that grabs your attention by talking about “legendary sexual performance.”
That pen belongs to white fox, whose new line of vape cartridges and pens touts ayurvedic qualities and sex-focused formulations. White Fox is a formerly underground cannabis company in Northern California whose leadership team includes Beats Antique drummer Sidecar Tommy.
SF Weekly took a few hits on White Fox’s three new vaping varieties and found that they were top-notch offerings with oil that was as good as anything else out there. But the claims of enhanced dreams and increased sexual energy seem, well, to compensate forr something.
White Fox pens and cartridges come in incredibly beautiful packaging. So in that sense they are a nice romantic gift. A deluxe gift box set that comes with a pen costs about $75, while individual cartridges cost about $50 (before state and local taxes).
The two supposedly sexy vape cartridges are one-to-one CBD-to-THC formulations; a version called untamed is meant for the ladies and another name Legendary is intended for gentlemen. The label on the product for men lists “an increase in stamina and sexual sensitivity” as a benefit, which sounds like something you’d hear on a late night TV commercial for a wannabe Viagra supplement.
The relaxing distillate with high THC content mystical dreams is a very solid night variety. It calls itself an “ancient Ayurvedic herbal blend” and contains some herbs described in Ayurveda. But we didn’t come across the lucid dream state described on the outer packaging.
We got a mild euphoria that took away the sharpness for our frontal lobes and caused tingling down our shoulders. It is certainly a high-quality cannabis extract.
White Fox’s vape pens are sold in a very elegant box that could serve as a cartridge carrying case should you ever really need something like this. The pen of the deluxe set has a reliable construction that is better than the average vape stick.
And of course, White Fox vapes are fun for sex – just as any cannabis product will enrich your boudoir encounters. But SF Weekly did not experience increased arousal or erections after smoking it. And while there are a few Ayurvedic herbs in the ingredients, we’re not sure if practitioners of the sacred tradition would balance with an Ayurvedic vape pen.
potential: Fast acting and long lasting, the THC dominant Mystic Dreams is a strong nightcap that will linger on the couch.
Odor: There are hints of smoky aroma in the puffs you exhale, but nowhere near the stench of raw flour.
Taste: Grape bubblegummy hints are remarkable in an otherwise clean, smokeless taste.
Appearance: Exceptionally well made and sturdy, although the bright white tips of cartridges sold separately can clash with the color scheme of your go-to pen.
Medical Application: These little friends have benefits, but SF Weekly found no verification for the sexual or Ayurvedic claims on the packaging.
Effect: A relaxing and satisfying high, but the promised sexual superpowers are pretty much the same as what you’d get from a decent vape oil.
