The latest company to join the CBD craze is arguably our best option — yet.
It is possible that in 2019We are already past “peak CBD” and going straight into overkill territory. The cannabinoid, more commonly known as cannabidiol, has been linked to alleviating just about every medical condition and condition under the sun, and while definitive research remains scarce, everything we’ve learned so far has done nothing to enhance the potential of CBD as a 21st century miracle cure.
Of course, many people also believe that we’d better put a stop to the brakes and let some hard facts get in the way. There is no doubt evidence that CBD can be an effective drug for reducing some of the effects of serious conditions such as cancer, cardiovascular disease and diabetes. But now that every wellness store has an entire aisle dedicated to the stuff, we also need to remember that not all CBD products are created equal.
Enter Bloom Farms — a cannabis company known for its line of vaporizer cartridges and floral offerings. Now Bloom Farms has entered the CBD market with a tincture that comes in 300 and 600 mg. concentrations.
At first glance, it checks all the boxes. First, it’s sourced domestically — which is nice, considering that the US only recently repealed asinine laws banning the crop (despite decades of evidence that hemp and marijuana aren’t the same). Bloom Farms also highlights that this tincture is infused with CBD extracts grown using a zero-waste method without exposure to solvents or additives.
Of course, the pedigree of a product as socially and environmentally responsible only matters if the thing itself actually performs. So is Bloom Farms’ CBD tincture get the job done?
This question is a bit more complicated than you might think. When we consume a product with THC, we have some baselines to compare our experience to. Did it get me high? How high did it take me? How long has it made me high? With CBD, those questions become irrelevant. Yes, some people report feeling a sensation similar to that of a runner when dosing CBD, but it is not a guarantee and cannot be used as a measure of overall effectiveness.
Instead, all we can do is administer daily doses of CBD and see if our overall health improves – albeit often in a mostly subtle way. After taking a daily dose of Bloom Farms CBD tincture (600mg concentration), I noticed a few aches and pains seemed less noticeable. My energy level also felt good, but I can’t say that these observations were definitively related to the tincture.
That said, anyone interested in what CBD can do probably won’t find a better place to start than with this new offering from Bloom Farms. For starters, some CBD products can taste pretty awful — like eating a big spoonful of fresh soil. This tincture still has an earthy taste, but is subtle enough to taste perfect.
Second, Bloom Farms has opted for full-spectrum extraction, which essentially means that this is CBD that contains other cannabinoids and terpenes. Some studies have shown that CBD is more effective when used with a supporting cast of cannabinoids and terpenes, as opposed to the isolated form. For my money, it seems logical to assume that consuming CBD as nature intended is the way to go.
It is ultimately up to each individual to see what all the fuss is about. In an industry still taking shape, Bloom Farms CBD tincture may not be king of the castle, but for now it certainly makes a strong case as one of the most reliable and reliable options out there. .
potential: New CBD consumers can start with the 300 mg. option, but unlike products with THC, there isn’t much of a downside to the more potent 600mg. choice.
Appearance: Almost amber in color, this tincture is available in 1-oz. bottles. Slight discoloration over time is normal. Bloom Farms suggests consuming your purchase within a year.
Medical Applications: numerous! It’s probably best to use CBD as a preventative supplement for a number of illnesses, but acute relief from everything from pain to anxiety has also been reported.
Effect: Some users feel a slight high – no psychoactive effects, so we’re talking about the high you might get after a walk – but the real benefit is the long-term effects of regular CBD consumption.
