I’m a purist when it comes to vaping: I want pure vapour, no combustion, no smoke. Unfortunately, the portable vape continues to disappoint. After years of searching for the one and only portable vape, I’ve resigned myself to the idea that I would never achieve both convenience and lung preservation with one compact, pocket-sized device.
So when I saw that the Haze Dual V3 comes with multiple types of screens to accommodate different vaping preferences, my hopes rose like a phoenix. Perhaps, I hoped, I had finally discovered the holy grail of portable vaporizers.
But one roadblock stood in my way: how the hell do you open this thing? I consider myself fairly technologically savvy; but even after reading the rather lengthy user manual I still couldn’t figure out how to access the main compartment. A few instructional YouTube videos later, I finally got the device loaded and ready to fire. I felt my hopes knock harder against the cage of doubt after the first two smooth, tasty hits. But on the third pull, my dreams literally went up in smoke. The metal chamber had become too hot, the button was burning and I was coughing.

Unfortunately, my search continues.
The fact that the Haze Dual V3 creates combustion even on the lowest heat setting is an automatic disqualification in my book. But even if this wasn’t a deal breaker for me, there are a few other cons that would knock it off my list of great vapes. As well as not being very intuitive, it’s also a bit too clunky and heavy for a portable vaporizer. Two separate rooms that can be used independently of each other come in handy when one picky friend insists on flowers while all the others don’t dab. But in the end it seems unnecessary as you are sacrificing portability for this feature. It also comes with a lot of small parts that I can imagine are easily lost and no means to hold it all together. A case or pencil case would be nice.
On the other hand, for those who are a bit more organized and not so bothered by a little smoke or extra baggage, this vape has some thoughtful features. It’s the only vape in town that can handle dry herbs, wax, and oil. And it performs quite well in the concentrates department with no throat burn or butane taste. Whether this makes up for lugging such a large device compared to a small discreet pen is up for debate.
In addition to the multiple screen options for both dry herbs and concentrates and the dual chambers for easy switching between the two, it comes with glass and stainless steel mouthpieces and four temperature settings. It is clear that Haze Technologies has put a lot of thought into tailoring this vape to the needs of the user. Which is why it’s even more disappointing to find that they still haven’t managed to capture that elusive pure vapor hit.
THE VERDICT
Cool Factor: The shape of a bottle makes your friends guess whether you smuggled in your own alcohol, which can be cool or not depending on who your friends are. It can also be mistaken for a large harmonica, which is definitely cool in many more social circles.
Practical: It’s not the smallest or lightest vape on the market, but it’s not terribly awkward to carry around. The double rooms are convenient for on the go. Depending on your plans and usage, you may be able to pack it up before you leave home and not worry about taking anything else with you.
Affordability: At $250, the Haze Dual V3 is a bit of a budget stretcher. You usually pay for versatility, so the price can be reasonable if your ultimate goal is to have one device that can handle all the vapeable stuff.
Overall: If you’re looking for a dry herb vape that produces pure vapor with the least amount of smoke, this vape isn’t for you. However, if you’re cool with a bit of burn and are interested in a versatile vape for both flowers and concentrates, or if you find yourself constantly complaining about how often you have to repack a single chamber vape, then the Haze Dual V3 might be the one for you. just be your ticket to cloud nine.
